& Next Step Institute

Next Step Institute needed a brand identity that felt credible, professional, and approachable. It shouldn’t have a purely institutional or bureaucratic feel. Instead, it should help students trust the institute and make real decisions about their education and careers while also showing a lot of warmth, support, and accessibility.

Brand Identity & Web Presence

Next Step Institute is a Registered Training Organisation delivering vocational courses in First Aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education and Care, and Aged Care and Health. Based in Broadmeadows, the Institute is built around a mission of inclusive, accessible education — supporting learners, including disadvantaged students, in gaining real, practical skills and career pathways.

The Approach

The identity needed to work across a wide range of touchpoints: a public-facing website, course materials, and everyday brand communications, all while speaking to a diverse audience of learners at different stages of life and career. The visual direction balanced professionalism with approachability — clean, modern design elements paired with a color and shape language warm enough to feel genuinely welcoming rather than corporate.

The Solution

I created a system that includes a distinct but unified visual language for each course category, so every offering feels individual while clearly belonging to the same institution. I also created web-ready graphics and identity elements designed to translate cleanly into the Institute’s website and wider digital presence, along with marketing collateral to promote enrolment and course offerings.

The result is a brand that positions Next Step Institute as an approachable, trustworthy training provider, one that reflects its core promise: reducing barriers, creating opportunity, and supporting every learner to take their next step.
